According to more and more parties, Rob Kemps’ aggressive attitude towards the press is passing by with his TV buddy Matthijs van Nieuwkerk. “He hates the press.”
The whole of Hilversum looks on in amazement as Rob Kemps completely destroys his positive image at a rapid pace. The presenter has been on the phone all week with all kinds of TV programs and that appears to be no exception. He was also ranting against a reporter from RTL Boulevard last summer.
‘Fault of Matthijs’
Johan Derksen thinks that Rob has developed his star allures by spending so much time with Matthijs van Nieuwkerk, namely for the recordings of the TV program Chansons. That could just be right, think RTL Boulevard stars Luuk Ikink and Rob Goossens.
Luke in The BLVD Podcast: “So I’ve been thinking about that, because I always thought Rob Kemps was a really nice guy. I have the feeling that Rob Kemps thinks that programs like VI and us and magazines and newspapers, that they want to screw him a little because he is so high in the tree now.”
‘Watch out for the media!’
Matthijs may have reinforced that, according to Luuk. “I think Rob is so very wary that he has just been asking around a bit: how should I deal with this? Perhaps he also ended up with Matthijs van Nieuwkerk, who then said: ‘Well, watch out’, or do I know a lot.”
It is no secret that Matthijs has a very bad relationship with the press. That may have influenced Rob, according to Luke. “And that he has now gone into a bit of overdrive or something. That’s my statement from the angry Rob. Otherwise I really wouldn’t know.”

It has to be, says colleague Rob Goossens. “I’ve also thought about it and I think it’s really all Matthijs van Nieuwkerk’s fault, because we know what Matthijs van Nieuwkerk hates the media. He doesn’t do interviews anymore.”
He continues: “Of course the two of them have been to France. So I am very afraid that Matthijs van Nieuwkerk will start talking to Rob Kemps like a kind of Rasputin about the poison that the Dutch media are.”

Rob: “Yes, that Rob Kemps not only had a wonderful season of Chansons at the end of the trip, but also that same hatred of the media. I can only hope that he will be the old Rob Kemps again.”
