Frendit star Matthew Perry has openly talked about his drug addiction. At his worst, he was taking up to 55 Vicodin opioid painkillers a day.
Perry said on Friday when he appeared on ABC by Diane Sawyer in the program, how he traded his own friends for drug dealers in order to get medicine. But even this was not always enough.
Perry came up with going to apartment screenings, where he would sneak into bathrooms to rummage through medicine cabinets in hopes of finding medicine.
Perry wasn’t worried about getting caught.
– I thought that no one could imagine that Chandler (Perry’s iconic character in Friends) would steal anything, Perry said.

Perry was also using other drugs and he drank a lot of vodka.
Due to the effects of the opioids, Perry fell into a coma, but miraculously survived.
Currently, Perry says that he works to be a peer support for other people suffering from addictions. Perry is no longer dependent on medication.
