Matthew Perry made out with Eddie Van Halen’s wife

“Friends” actor Matthew Perry apparently wanted something from Eddie Van Halen’s wife, actress Valerie Bertinelli, in the ’90s. He writes in his autobiography Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing. Perry explains that he was “completely enchanted” and “obsessed” with Bertinelli. And not only that – at least once they are said to have kissed each other.

“My feelings were crushing; not only was she completely out of my reach, she was married to one of the most famous rock stars on the planet, Eddie Van Halen,” Perry writes. He had “elaborate fantasies in which she [Eddie] left and spent the rest of her life with me.”

At least once something should actually have happened between them. Perry says he was visiting the couple once when Eddie passed out after many drinks. Then he kissed Bertinelli. “Valerie and I made out for a long, long time. It happens — maybe she felt the same way I did,” he writes. He “told her that I thought about doing this for a long time and she said it right back to me.”

Bertinelli apparently responded to Perry’s story on social media, though she didn’t directly confirm anything. “Did any of you misbehave in your 20’s or early 30’s? Are you uncomfortable?” she wrote on Instagram, apparently covering her face with her hand in embarrassment in the accompanying video.”
