US actor Matthew Perry has been buried in Los Angeles after his unexpected death, according to US media reports.
According to the information, Perry’s former colleagues from the series “Friends” were also present at the funeral service, which is said to have lasted around two hours. In the past few days, Jennifer Aniston (54), Courteney Cox (59), Lisa Kudrow (60), Matt LeBlanc (56) and David Schwimmer (56) had spoken of an “unbelievable loss” in a statement.
The 54-year-old Perry, who had his greatest success with “Friends,” was found dead in a hot tub at his home in Los Angeles on Saturday last week. Nothing was initially known about the cause of death, but foul play was ruled out. An autopsy should now bring clarity. In his autobiography, published in 2022, the actor wrote openly about his decades-long battle with alcohol, drug and pill addiction.
The ’90s hit series “Friends,” in which Perry played the role of Chandler Bing, revolved around the lives of six young friends in New York. The TV series was produced in the USA from 1994 to 2004 and became a television cult in countless countries.
In 2021, all six main actors appeared together again in front of the camera for the special program “Friends: The Reunion”.
