The carreer
Born in Salerno in 1995, Matteo Paolillo began acting at just 13 years old by joining a small theater company in his city. After graduating from high school he moved to Rome and he enrolled at the Experimental Center of Cinematography after which he graduated in 2019. Three years earlier he made his TV debut in an episode of Don Matteo and, in addition to acting, Matteo he also begins to experiment with rap music.
The turning point was 2020, when he joined the cast of Sea Outside with the role of Edoardo Conte, and publishes the first solo EP titled Edo where he explores, through songs, some character nuances of his character in the TV series. His is the voice of the theme song of the record-breaking dramafor which he also sings some songs from the soundtrack like the now famous O Mar For. Last February another successful single was released: Origami at dawn paired with Clara while the first album arrives in May Comets.
Album that tackles themes that are close to the author’s heart such as the strength of love, the sense of community and the fear of showing oneself vulnerable. Alternating between Italian and Neapolitan, the singer explores the hip hop genre, stripping it of its violent connotations of the genre and focusing on the desire for revenge and redemption.
Matteo Paolillo at Sanremo 2024?
After all these successes, many take Paolillo’s presence at Sanremo 2024 for certain. Also because the director of Rai Fiction, Michele Zatta, a few months ago confirmed the airing of the fourth season of Sea outside just for February (first on RaiPlay and then on Rai 2). And close to the musical event hosted by Amadeus.
