The 73rd edition of the Sanremo Festival opened with a standing ovation for the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella. For the first time a head of state is present in the room at the Ariston. Mattarella was then moved when Benigni quoted his father Bernardo in his speech (www.raiplay.it)
