Swedish hockey supplier Mats Wennerholm writes in Aftonbladet as head coach Jukka Jalonen has built his own empire in the Lion.
Wennerholm compared the Finnish team as tenacious as Lasse Virén at the gold races at the 1972 Munich Olympics.
In his column, Wennerholm praised Tampere as the European disco capital.
– I wonder how many NHL stars want to come here next year to play. There will be no huge rush to the national team from the NHL, as Jalonen remains in the winning formula with which he has been historically successful so far, Wennerholm writes.
He praises Finland’s NHL confirmations this year, especially Mikael Granlundia and Miro Heiska.
– They were both great when they joined the team. They immediately found their own roles. Look and learn, Sweden.
Swedish judges under a magnifying glass
Judges of the final match Linus Öhlund and Mikael Nord was also recognized in Sweden for its questionable convictions.
Cole Sillinger the two-minute cool, which was later found to have come from Heiskanen’s own racket, was an error solution from the judge duo.
– It could solve the whole game, Wennerholm says.
In spite of everything, the Swedish journalist thinks that Finland earned its World Cup gold and the audience in the Nokia arena earned its own team’s world championship.
