COPENHAGEN – A day before the opening time trial of this Tour de France, Mathieu van der Poel was hoisted in his supersonic suit for the first time. There was simply no time before to try on the aerodynamic outfit. He also drove it for a while, but extensive testing was not an issue. “It’s about small details, but if you can gain seconds with that, you should try it,” said a very relaxed Van der Poel, who added. “This Tour start is less of a stress factor for me than last year.”
