Mathias Beck succeeds Peter Fischer as Eintracht president. The members decided this on Monday evening in the Frankfurt Jahrhunderthalle.
At the general meeting of Eintracht Frankfurt, Mathias Beck was elected as the new president. The 52-year-old businessman and former vice president was elected as Peter Fischer’s successor on Monday with an overwhelming majority of the 1,887 voting members. Beck was the only candidate.
After almost 24 years as club boss of the Bundesliga club, the 67-year-old announced his retirement in May last year. “It’s difficult to say bye-bye, goodbye, goodbye,” emphasized Fischer in his farewell speech to around 2,200 members and guests, who gave him long applause. For him, Beck was “the perfect successor.”
At the end of his era, Fischer celebrated winning the DFB Cup in 2018 and the Europa League in 2022. In addition to his sporting successes, he gained recognition for his commitment to democratic values and against right-wing extremism. During his term of office, the number of members grew enormously. According to the latest survey, there are now 139,000 members.
