Matchless Club puts Atletico aside

Blauw-Zwart started absolutely unimpressed by the Madrilenians. Mignolet proved before halftime that he has been a hugely reliable capstone all year and kept Morata from the opening goal. After half an hour, the first real home attack was hit: Sowah brought blue-black to 1-0.

Anyone expecting an offensive from Atletico after the break was wrong. After a wonderful attack over Jutgla and Buchanan, the Spaniard put the 2-0 next to Oblak: Club got a few more wings.

Atletico was able to moderate via penalty kick, but Griezman first shot hard at the bar and scored a little later, in an offside position.

Club only counted stars. From a snappy Jutgla over a strong Odoi to a once again extremely secure Simon Mignolet who rightly deserved the praise of the public… This Club Brugge is simply over-deserved where it is: in the lead of its group and almost inevitably in the next round of the Champions League.
