Just before time, the speaker in the Telstar stadium proclaimed Glynor Plet ‘man of the match’. The experienced striker of the Velsenaren shot in the winning goal from a penalty just before. “Finally the three points for our own audience.”
“A penalty is always a penalty,” laughs Glynor Plet about his used penalty. The tall attacker shot the ball controlled into the right corner. “The only thing on my mind is that the ball has to go in.”
Drink
Not only Glynor Plet was visibly relieved with the first win of the season. Trainer Mike Snoei also clearly showed in front of the camera that he was very happy. “We’re going to have a little drink.”

Experience
Glynor Plet’s goal was his second of the season. The 35-year-old veteran decided at a late stage to extend his contract for another season in Velsen-Zuid. And he likes that so far, because he sees that the selection is better balanced. “Last year we had less experience.”

After four games, the White Lions have collected four points and are in fourteenth place. The next game is next Thursday, September 1. In-house at 8 p.m. against De Graafschap, which can of course be followed live on NH Radio.
