Matber: a family business that reinvents itself in the funeral industry – Brand

The funeral business is one of the oldest and most necessary in society, but also one of the most challenging and competitive. In this context, Matber stands out as a family business that has been able to adapt to the changes and demands of the market, offering quality, innovation and customization products and services.

Matber was born in the mid-80s, when Jorge Retamal, a former funeral insurance salesman and branch manager of a renowned funeral company, decided with his wife Marta to dedicate themselves to the manufacture of shrouds, the traditional clothing used to present the deceased during the wake.

Jorge’s commercial skill and Marta’s determination soon led to expanding orders and options for textile products for the funeral sector. Thus, Matber also began to offer Cloaks, Cloths, Curtains, Banners, Mounts, Carpets and other elements to dress and decorate the funeral rooms.

As time went by, the company incorporated more products and services, such as equipment and ornamentation, supplies for the removal and preparation of the deceased, biosecurity and mortuary aesthetic equipment, equipment for cemeteries, cinerary urns and design advice, restoration and remodeling of funeral facilities.

In 2016, the management of Matber passed into the hands of the daughter of the founding couple, Emilia Retamal, and her husband Bruno Longoni. They were in charge of reinventing the family business with creativity, ingenuity and strength of progress. They boosted the productive level of the project and positioned themselves as one of the most competitive companies in the market.

Currently, Matber has more than 500 products in its catalog and serves more than 800 customers throughout the country. Its differential is the ability to adapt to the needs and preferences of each funeral company and each family that is going through the difficult moment of losing a loved one.

Matber not only offers standard products, but also does custom and personalized work. For example, you can make shrouds with the colors or symbols of the deceased’s favorite football team, or with a special design that represents his personality or tastes. You can also equip the funeral rooms with items that evoke the life and work of the deceased, such as photographs, books, musical instruments or any other significant object.

In addition, they provide a comprehensive advisory, support and solution service to funeral companies. Its team is made up of professionals trained in different areas, such as design, architecture, engineering, carpentry, electricity, painting and upholstery. In this way, they can solve any problem or requirement that arises in the funeral field.

Matber is a family business that has been able to grow and renew itself in the funeral industry. Its commitment is to provide quality and innovative products and services that meet the expectations of its customers. Their vision is to be leaders in the national and international market. Its mission is to accompany people who are grieving the death of a loved one with respect and sensitivity.
