A large contingent of the Berlin police in uniform and civilian clothes had to move to Reuterstraße at Sonnenallee on Wednesday evening around 10:10 p.m. for a mass brawl.
Machetes, knives, blackjacks and even swords are said to have been used in the altercation. As far as is known, no one was injured.
Shortly after the police arrived, most of the people involved spread out in all directions.
Some fleeing people were arrested by the officers. At least one person was taken into custody for identification purposes during the investigation.
“When the police are gone, we’ll be back!” One of those involved is said to have shouted in a foreign language. However, since the police understood the threat, a further confrontation with a constant strong presence of emergency services was prevented.
At the end of the operation in Neukölln, all suspects were released on site.
