A mass brawl broke out in Bavaria after an Austrian football match. Fans of FC Augsburg were also right in the middle.
After a football game in Bregenz, Austria, there is said to have been a mass brawl involving around 100 people at the train station in Buchloe (Ostallgäu district). After the game between FC Blau-Weiß Linz and SC Austria Lustenau, which according to the police was supported by FC Augsburg fans, up to 30 masked Linz hooligans were waiting at the train station on Sunday evening for the Augsburg team to arrive. The police announced this on Monday.
They stormed the train when it stopped in Buchloe. There were physical altercations between the rival fans. Pyrotechnics were also ignited. The train was so badly damaged in the incident that it could no longer be used. It was initially not known how long train services were canceled due to the dispute at Buchloer train station.
When the first emergency services came to the train station, the suspected perpetrators had already left on another train and in a car, as the police report continued. It was initially unclear how many people were injured and how serious the injuries were. The federal police investigated physical injuries, damage to property, disruption of public operations and breach of the peace.
