Defender Marvin Friedrich has complained about his situation in Mönchengladbach. The 27-year-old was signed by the then sports director Max Eberl and the then coach Adi Hütter from Union Berlin just over a year ago.
Someone got confused: the ex-Unioner Marvin Friedrich plays at his new club Borussia Mönchengladbach with a coach Daniel Farke not matter. Friedrich is correspondingly frustrated. “I’m absolutely dissatisfied with the situation and feel zero point zero trust,” said the defender in SportBILD on Wednesday.
Recently it became known that Friedrich wanted to change in the winter, but Borussia had rejected this. Nevertheless, the former Unioner only had a few minutes of playing time this year. Ko Itakura and Nico Elvedi are currently set in central defence. Friedrich’s contract on the Lower Rhine runs until June 30, 2026.
“I went to the coach and manager a few weeks ago and described my dissatisfaction to them. Both have shown understanding, but nothing has changed for me,” complained Friedrich, who is now apparently pushing for a change again in the summer: “Something has to change for me. It can not go on like this.”
