The basketball players of LGITS.nl Martini Sparks won again on Thursday in the Elite B of the Women’s Basketball League. After last weekend’s victory over BAL, the team won 51-38 against Lekdetec.nl in sports hall Scharlakenhof in Haren.
The low score had its origins in the first two quarters. The home team got off to a good start, defended fanatically and ended the first quarter with a 9-8 lead. In the second company, both teams scored even less and the second part ended with a 13-15 score in favor of the guests from Bemmel.
,,The shots didn’t fall for both teams and we were actually a bit lucky that their three-point shots didn’t have the right direction”, said coach Caspar Wit, who left the coaching during the game to assistant Damian Boomstra. In the third quarter, Martini Sparks took a minimal lead: 31-30. After that, the home team pressed on decisively in the last part and therefore took an excellent and welcome 51-38 victory.
‘Beautiful victory’
,,A wonderful victory”, White said. ,,It’s starting to come, but that’s dangerous to say on the way to the next game. We can at least say that we are on an upward trend. Another difficult game is ahead on Saturday against Topkip Lions, but in this form I think we can also get close to that team.”
Leah Marie Porath led the way for Martini Sparks with 14 points.
