The previous head of culture at Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (RBB), Martina Zöllner, will become the station’s new program director. The RBB Broadcasting Council elected her on Thursday with the required majority, the broadcaster announced in the evening.

The committee follows the suggestion of the director Katrin Vernau. According to the information, Zöllner has been working for the public broadcaster since 2017.

Your term of office will start no later than April 1 and should initially last until July 31, 2024, it said. According to the announcement, Vernau said: “As a clever program strategist, Martina Zöllner will shape the RBB profile for the future and be able to build on the creativity and passion of the colleagues in the program management.”

Zöllner succeeds Jan Schulte-Kellinghaus, who left the station at the end of January 2023. He had vacated his post during the crisis at RBB.

Because the RBB management had also come into focus when allegations were made against the director Patricia Schlesinger, who has since been fired without notice, and the former chief controller Wolf-Dieter Wolf. Schlesinger and Wolf have always denied the allegations.
