Martin Luther King Jr. accounted for the birth of Julia Roberts

In a video interview with “History Talks”, the actress revealed special details about her birth after 55 years: The human rights activist Martin Luther King Jr. and his wife shared a special fate with the actress and paid for the costs of her childbirth.

Parents had no money for Julia Roberts’ birth

At the time, Roberts’ parents ran an acting school in Atlanta, which Martin Luther King III, the eldest son of Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King, was also supposed to attend. Since Roberts’ mother, contrary to the social conventions of the time, unhesitatingly agreed to the black boy being photographed, a friendship quickly developed between the families.

When Julia Roberts was born on October 28, 1967, her family had few financial reserves, which is why the King couple, who were friends, paid for the childbirth.
