Martijn Krabbé discontinues his plans to start playing records again. He will continue to appear as a presenter on television. “I otherwise look like the geography teacher who acts popular.”
It has been almost a year since Martijn Krabbé announced in a travel program by Beau van Erven Dorens that he wants to quit television and start playing records again. The presenter was laughed at by Tooske Ragas and the response was also sceptical: “He wants to quit television? Oh, that’s what they all say!”
Martijn laughed at
It’s a good thing that Martijn has put his DJ ambitions on hold, because he was recently laughed at when he went to play at some of Nicolette van Dam’s parties.
Martijn himself thinks that is a bit strange, because he used to be active as a DJ for many years. “Then I would be playing music at a party somewhere and no one would worry about anything. But if I put on an image now, the internet is immediately too small, strange,” he responds in the Weekend.
Stunned
What does Martijn think about being laughed at so much in Today Inside? “I understand that, it looks a bit like a school party, you know. When the geography teacher suddenly acts very popular and puts on some music. But really, I’m also amazed, because sorry, that’s how I started.”
He continues: “On the other hand, that was so long ago, so I don’t blame anyone else, haha! In any case, that shooting came up again when I really started to orient myself on: gosh, what do I still want to do in television, should I continue with that?
Ambitions on hold
The DJ ambitions are put on hold again. “Now I’m slowly finding out, while every now and then I get a kick in the ass, like: you need to go outside again! I still like it enough, and there are actually six or seven titles coming up in the coming year.”
The Voice scandal really affected him. “It’s not that intense that I care about that, is it? Everyone understands that, right?”
