Jong FC Volendam today won a friendly match against FC Utrecht’s peers with 2-1. In Utrecht, among others, Alex Plat, Martijn Kaars and Calvin Twigt received playing minutes from trainer Kiki Musampa.
Plat, Twigt and Kaars were allocated a basic place at Sportpark Zoudenbalch. Lequincio Zeefuik and Barry Lauwers also started from the first whistle.
Just before half time, Kaars opened the score for FC Volendam. With twenty minutes left on the clock, Derensili Sanches Fernandes shot the home team alongside again. However, the Utrecht team could not enjoy the equalizer for long. In the eightieth minute, right winger Tayrell Wouter made the winning goal on behalf of the Volendam team.
Week off
The first FC Volendam will not be in action this week. Wim Jonk’s team will play its next game again on Friday 4 February. In Volendam, today’s opponent, Jong FC Utrecht will visit.
