After 10 seasons in the padel eliteMarta Marrero, at the age of 39 decided temporarily withdraw from the world of padel to be able to fulfill her desire to be a mother. A year after saying goodbye at the Master Final in Barcelona, Marrero has fulfilled her wish and has given birth to her first daughter at the Sant Joan de Déu hospital.
“We already have our little princess Flavia with us. We both feel very well. The most important adventure of our lives begins”the Canary Islander published on her Instagram account along with a photograph with little Flavia together with her partner, Jon Grau.
Marta is currently a shareholder in the group of padel clubs ‘Pay&play Aurial Padel by Marta Marrero’ which has centers in Sant Cugat del Vallés, Vic, Cornellà del Llobregat, Sabadell and soon in Mataró.
During 2023, it has also dared to launch the Aurial Academy, a school for professional players based in Barcelona.
Until 2010, the Canary Islander competed on the WTA tennis circuit, achieving a record of 284 wins and 209 losses. She was ranked 47th in her best ranking in 2004. She also won two WTA doubles titles, 5 ITFs and a quarterfinals at Roland Garros in 2000.
