Mart Hoogkamer’s musical career is on the rise, but he fails to impress the TV viewer. Yesterday, the entire NPO 3 evening was devoted to the singer. And? “Totally flopped.”
It has been going very badly for weeks with Mart op de Piste, the first TV program by Mart Hoogkamer. Not only the viewing figures are bad, but also the reviews are really very bad. Yesterday, the entire NPO 3 evening was all about Mart, because after that après-ski program, the TV recording of his concert in Ahoy was also shown.
Bad numbers
Mart scores really badly: Mart op de Piste had 92,000 viewers (1.8 percent market share) and Mart Hoogkamer in Ahoy immediately afterwards did not exceed 57,000 viewers (1.1 percent).
Viewing expert and former SBS6 boss Tina Nijkamp: “What an embarrassment. NPO 3 had a whole theme evening about Mart Hoogkamer, but that went very badly. The end of the ski soap around Mart Hoogkamer only scored 92 thousand viewers, one tenth of the number of viewers of Het Perfecte Plaatje. Ouch.”
Embarrassing
NPO 3 was by far the worst viewed of all ten major TV channels during Mart’s shows. “It was the tenth station at that time. Also only 3.4 percent in the commercial target group aged 20 to 54. In the target group aged 20 to 34, even only 2.4. Embarrassing but also justified I think.”
She continues: “The subsequent concert scored even worse: 57 thousand viewers and 1.5 percent in 20 to 54 years. In 20 to 34 years even 0.4 percent. Even BBC Holland scored higher at that time with 61 thousand viewers.”
One thing is certain: Mart will quickly disappear from the Rolodex of the NPO 3 boss again.
World Cup win
The prime-time winner was the World Cup Football match Belgium – Canada with 1.9 million viewers (35 percent) on NPO 1. The most watched alternative was Het Perfecte Plaatje with 930 thousand viewers (18 percent) on RTL 4.
SBS 6 scored well with De Oranjewinter – 820 thousand viewers (19 percent) – but immediately before Steenrik Straatarm scored 424 thousand viewers (8 percent) and Shownieuws 397 thousand viewers (7 percent).
