Mart Hoogkamer’s first own TV program is a huge failure in viewing figures. The premiere episode did not get past 196,000 viewers yesterday. “This is a missed opportunity.”
The career of Mart Hoogkamer has gone very fast in recent years. Some even see him as the successor of André Hazes Jr., which has fallen into disrepair. Now Mart also has his own show on television: Mart op de Piste, in which he settles down in Val Thorens with friends such as Wesley Sneijder for a musical winter sport.
Few viewers
The premiere of Mart op de Piste last night at half past eight attracted few viewers on NPO 3. Only 196 thousand people (4 percent market share) watched the first broadcast. “And he only scored a five percent market share in the commercial target group 20 to 54 years old,” says viewing figure expert Tina Nijkamp. “Very disappointing.”
Tina was already critical of the program while watching last night. “Is it really 2022? Sitting in amazement watching the new program on the youth channel NPO 3: Mart op de Piste.”
Not included
Mart op de Piste is not inclusive at all, Tina notes. “Mart Hoogkamer is supposedly going to make après-ski hits in the snow. What do we see? Seven men, including Mart, Maxim and Danny Froger, Wesley Sneijder and a few other friends, who are constantly out and about and having fun.”
She continues: “There is only one woman, Shirma Rouse, in a very small supporting role. She is in the kitchen for almost the entire episode because according to Mart ‘she can cook so well’. Ahem.”
Missed opportunity
It’s also just a bad product, Tina concludes. “The purpose of this program completely eludes me. Badly mounted. And where is the voice over? Après-ski ‘hit’ hardly ever in the picture. Wonderful TV in 2022. Expected more and could have been much better. Missed opportunity.”
The big winners at prime time were Ajax – Liverpool with 1.3 million viewers (27 percent) on RTL 7, Oogappels with 920 thousand viewers (18 percent) on NPO 1 and Het Perfecte Plaatje with 903 thousand viewers (17 percent) on RTL. 4.
