France’s soccer runners-up Olympique Marseille has found a new coach three days after separating from Jorge Sampaoli.
The former Croatian international Igor Tudor (44) takes over at OM and receives a two-year contract, as the traditional club announced.
Tudor last worked in Serie A at Hellas Verona, before that the ex-professional acted as assistant to the hapless Andrea Pirlo at his former club Juventus Turin. Tudor won the Croatian Cup in 2013 at his first head coaching stint in Hajduk Split.
Sampaoli, former Argentina coach, had called for greater investment in the squad following Marseille’s qualification for the Champions League. From his point of view, the club management was too hesitant in this regard. The two sides parted ways last Friday.
