Marrying Mick Jagger – yes, no? Melanie Hemrick on Wedding Rumors

Wedding, house and children are less part of the rock’n’roll lifestyle. At least when marriage is being discussed. Because as Melanie Hemrick, the ex-ballerina and partner of Rolling Stones singer Mich Jagger, has now publicly announced, she and the rock legend have no plans to ring the wedding bells anytime soon. Hemrick was responding to comments on social media about an impending marriage.

Jagger and Hemrick have been together for nine years

36-year-old Hemrick is best known for her career as a ballet dancer. Nine years ago she met Mick Jagger, now 79, who is a great admirer of ballet and known as an avid dancer himself. The couple have a son together, who was born in December 2016. Although the two couldn’t be happier after almost ten years, they still don’t want to step in front of the altar. Hemrick dispelled any rumors after the American choreographer was spotted with a suspicious ring on her finger.

In an interview with the US magazine “People”, Hemrick made it clear that this was a “promise ring”. “I have to giggle, because did Mick give me the ring? Yes. Is it for that finger? Yes,” Jagger’s partner is quoted as saying. “But are we like horny teenagers looking at each other… To me, it’s a promise ring. We’re immature and we call it a promise ring.” Hemrick also didn’t give a damn if she would consider marrying the “Sympathy For The Devil” singer. She lives too much “in the moment” for that.

When it comes to getting married, however, Jagger does have some experience. He has said yes to previous partners three times. The singer, who recently entered the iced coffee business, already has seven children from other relationships.
