Married At First Sight continues to be a success, Carlo Boszhard responds to criticism

Carlo Boszhard’s wedding show, Married At First Sight, continues to be a success on the Tuesday evening of RTL 4. Yet there is also strong criticism and the 52-year-old presenter is now responding to it.

Married At First Sight was ridiculed a week and a half ago in the satirical program Media Inside. Gijs Groenteman was quite critical: “Don’t you also get a little tired of being Carlo Boszhard all the time, what you’re looking at? It’s a lot of Carlo Boszhard what you get all the time.”

Carlo responds

Table guest Alexander Klöpping indicated that he found the wedding show very slow and Marcel van Roosmalen: “I also watch this because I also like to annoy myself. So I am annoyed by Carlo Boszhard. He stands there jumping at every wedding like it’s about him. It doesn’t make me feel good at all, that happy stuff.”

What does Carlo think? He reacts sportively in Televizier: “I often have to laugh about Marcel. The image that he is watching a MAFS broadcast – and especially how – seems hilarious to me. Still a bit like seeing Maarten van Rossem at a K3 concert. The whiny voice of Gijs Groenteman added, makes [Media Inside] into a satirical gem.”

Bronze for MAFS

Besides Marcel, 949 thousand other people (18% market share) also watched Married At First yesterday. With that, the RTL 4 show took bronze on prime time. Only NPO 2’s Dwars Door De Lage Landen (1.1 million and 21%) and NPO 1’s De Rijdende Rechter (1.1 million and 22%) scored better.

The other most viewed prime-time titles were NPO 1’s Opsporing Verzocht (905 thousand and 17%), SBS 6′ Today Inside (748 thousand and 16%), NPO 2’s Nieuwsuur (591 thousand and 12%) and SBS 6′ 10 Voor Language (543 thousand and 11%).
