The Spaniard does not seem inclined to reconciliation: “I want to have only people who have something to give me to my side”. Then he admits: “89 wins in Top Class how is the seven titles more feasible”
The enmity between Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez, now ten -year, seems destined to continue again. Confirmation comes indirectly from the words of the Ducati pilot, current world champion leader in MotoGP, during an interview with Dazn Spain. The Spaniard does not exclude the reconciliation a priori, but, at the same time, remains firm on his position. No hand tense to rival, also because, according to Marquez, Rossi would not show his intention to take a step forward, thus improving the relationship between the two.
No peace
–
Returning from the triumphal weekend of Sachsenring, Marc analyzes the relationship with the opponents encountered during his career in MotoGP: “Dani Pedrosa taught me so much. It is what I learned most from. Without two handicaps, or height and strength, he would have won more than one MotoGP title. I tried to drive like him, but with more aggression. Being pounding like Lorenzo and managing the race like Rossi ”. When asked if a peace with Valentino in the future is really possible, the eight -time world champion is frank: “When something does not depend only on you, you can’t say: ‘I am interested’. I repeat it: I want to have only people who have something to give me at my side”. A reference to the episode of Misano 2018, when Rossi refused to tighten his hand at the press conference, but also to the very hard words used by Valentino during the Mig Babol Podcast, when he said that “nobody has ever been so dirty in motorsport as Marquez”.
NUMBERS
–
If the relationships remain cold and detached, the approach between Rossi and Marquez could take place in terms of statistical aspect. Marc is grinding repetition victories and is 20 lengths away from the number of successes in Rossi’s Top Class, 89 to 69. However, he admits: “It seems to me difficult to reach it. I miss many victories. And then I have never set a share of triumphs to reach in his career. I did not know the number of successes of Agostini and Rossi for example”. Marquez, however, chooses a decidedly realistic goal: “Winning seven titles in MotoGP seems easier for me to reach 89 successes. Or rather: it is more feasible, because nothing is easy. I will try”. The seventh World Cup in the top category, the ninth in total, would allow him to match Valentino. A dream that, race after race, in this 2025, seems to take shape to Marc’s eyes.
