Marleen Meijer new director Zorgbelang Drenthe

Zorgbelang Drenthe says goodbye to Jan van Loenen after 17 years. His successor is Marleen Meijer. From 1 May 2023 she will be director-director. Van Loenen will stay on until mid-June, in order to be able to do a good work transfer.

Meijer applied for the position and was hired. Through her current work at CMO STAMM, she has gained extensive knowledge and experience of healthcare in Drenthe. The Zorgbelang Drenthe organization has known them for a long time. “I have been working in the region for many years. I know Zorgbelang Drenthe and have worked with it before,” says Meijer.

The organization is committed to all people in Drenthe who need care, and wants everyone to be able to continue to participate in society. In addition, Zorgbelang Drenthe forms an important link between patient and client associations and healthcare providers, healthcare financiers and governments. In addition, Zorgbelang Drenthe provides advice to clients who need help.

Meijer thinks Zorgbelang Drenthe is an organization with a good foundation. “I can maintain and strengthen that. In the future, residents of Drenthe will have a lot to do with care support. The care is under pressure. residents of Drenthe.”

There are also many challenges in her path. “There is a lot going on. We have the integral care agreement, the reform agenda for youth, aging and all other crises that play out in society.” According to Meijer, it is important to properly organize care and support in one’s own environment. “That’s really a challenge.”

As director-administrator, it will be Meijers task to represent the voice of the inhabitants. To this end, they have contact with the advisory and client councils that exist. “It is important that we make that voice heard and participate in all developments.”

On Friday 16 June, during the 35th anniversary symposium of Zorgbelang Drenthe, you can meet Meijer. At that moment, Van Loenen says goodbye to the organization.
