Even around 24 hours after the bitter 0: 3 bankruptcy at Union Berlin, the question of a coach at VfB Stuttgart is still open. Several traded successor candidates for the controversial head coach Bruno Labbadia are said to be out of the running.
As the “kicker” and the “Stuttgart Zeitung” unanimously report, the decision on Labbadia’s future was postponed on Sunday at a crisis meeting with CEO Alexander Wehrle, President Claus Vogt, member of the Executive Committee Rainer Adrion and sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth.
One thing should be clear: Markus Gisdol and Felix Magath play no role in the considerations of the VfB managers. Both were traded around the Swabians as possible Labbadia successors on Saturday.
It is also unlikely that U19 coach Nico Willig will be promoted.
According to “kicker”, Hannes Wolf, who led VfB to promotion again in 2016, like Ralph Hasenhüttl and Adi Hütter, is said to have no interest in a job in Stuttgart.
VfB Stuttgart is no longer looking for a “fireman”.
The former VfB professional Ludovic Magnin (FC Lausanne-Sport), on the other hand, is considered a promising candidate.
The “Stuttgarter Zeitung” also mentions Robert Klauß and Alexander Blessin as possible options. Both are without a club and would be available immediately.
According to reports, after the disastrous failure with Labbadia, VfB Stuttgart is not looking for a “fireman” brand coach again. Instead, they want to install a trainer who arouses emotions in the professionals and, in the worst case, would also go to the 2nd Bundesliga, they say.
VfB only managed one win in eleven games under Labbadia. Meanwhile, the Swabians even adorn the bottom of the table.
In the away game at VfL Bochum next weekend, a triple point win must be achieved without any ifs or buts. After that (April 15) follows the appearance in front of the home crowd against second-placed Borussia Dortmund.
