Marks and Spencer has appointed Krista Nordlund as the new Digital Product Officer.
It starts at the UK retailer on January 4th, Marks and Spencer announced. In her new position, Nordlund will join the team of Chief Digital & Data Officer Jeremy Pee.
As Digital Product Officer, Nordlund is responsible for accelerating Marks and Spencer’s digital product capabilities. It comes from the US rental marketplace RentPath. There she is currently working as Chief Product Officer. She was also active on USA Today, Expedia and US Airways.
“Online and mobile are nowadays the means of choice for more and more of our customers to shop with us. That’s why it’s important that we deliver fast, easy and personalized experiences to our customers at all times, and Krista’s experience will play a huge role in building our digital skills as we shape the future of M&S, “said Pee.
The company was able to significantly expand its customer base online this year and recorded a growth of more than 50 percent. Marks and Spencer operates a web shop and a shopping app. Both platforms are also available in Germany.
“It is a great time to come to M&S as more people are shopping online and the company is expanding its omnichannel offering,” said Nordlund. “I see a great opportunity to support the next phase of our transformation by taking the digital experiences we offer our customers to the next level.”
