Marketing and Merchandising Director Merel Werners is leaving the Brazilian shoe manufacturer Alpargatas SA.
The Dutchwoman announced her decision to leave the parent company of the sandal label Havaianas after nine years on Wednesday on the LinkedIn careers network.
For eight of her nine years with the company, Werners served as Director of Marketing for Havaianas EMEA before being promoted to Director of Marketing and Merchandising for Havaiana’s parent company in December 2021.
“After 9 years, I’ve decided to say goodbye to Alpargatas SA, a company I love, and to Havaianas, a brand I’ve ‘lived’ so intensely,” Werners wrote in the post. The Dutchwoman has not yet revealed any information about future professional plans, but referred to “updates about the new chapter” during the year. First of all, after 23 years of uninterrupted work, she’s taking a little break.
