Market value update Ukraine
At the top of the Premier League table, things are tighter than they have been for a long time – four teams are fighting for first place within three points of each other, while Shakhtar Donetsk continues to linger in lonely circles in the market value ranking. In the winter update of the Ukrainian upper house, the club, which is in the “premier class” with a good chance of reaching the round of 16 and is definitely in Europe, increased by 7 million to 113 million euros. The loser in terms of squad value is Dynamo Kyiv, which lost 2.5 million euros to 52.3 million euros. The surprise teams Kryvbas Kryvyi Rig (1st) and second division champions FK Polissya Zhytomyr (3rd) increased by 27.5 and 12 percent to 11.6 million and 11.3 million euros, while second division SK Dnipro-1 remained virtually unchanged remains at 21.8 million.
The fact that Shakhtar continues to distance itself from the national competition is due to the big winners of this update: offensive talent Georgiy Sudakov (21) increases by 3 million to 18 million euros and is therefore only 2 million behind leader and teammate Mykola Matvienko (27 ). Sudakov is now a regular in the national team and has impressively demonstrated his talent both there and in the Champions League. The first rumors have been around since the end of November, with interest from Man City, Arsenal and Juventus being rumored. The top scorer Danylo Sikan (22), who was successful three times in the “premier league” among others, will increase by 2 million to 6 million euros and goalkeeper Dmytro Riznyk (24) will be upgraded by 2 million to 5 million euros.
Matvienko at the top: Most valuable player in the Ukrainian Premier League
At Dynamo, which lags behind the top in the table and has already failed to qualify for the Conference League against Besiktas in Europe, Mykola Shaparenko is the most notable loser in market value. The 25-year-old midfielder drops by one million euros to 5 million euros. Due to injury, he has not yet found his rhythm this season and was last part of the national team in the summer of 2022.
The update’s biggest winner in percentage terms is Ilya Kvasnytsya (20) from Rukh Lviv. The winger, Ukrainian U21 international, has impressed across the board so far this season, contributing six goals and five assists in 19 competitive games. For him it goes up by 200 percent to 1.2 million euros.
