Market values Sweden: Swedberg biggest winner – Larsson loses

Complete update Allsvenskan

Transfermarkt has revised the market values in the Swedish Allsvenskan league as part of the complete updates in the summer. Among the biggest winners are some players who will only stay with their current teams until the end of the month before moving to other clubs from July 1st. Including a player who is drawn to Celta Vigo for one of the highest transfers in Swedish league history.

Williot Swedberg, the update’s biggest winner with a profit of €3.2m, will join the Spanish top flight club after 11 years at Hammarby IF. With a transfer fee of 5 million euros, he is Sweden’s fifth most expensive player export. Thanks to a market value of now 5 million euros, the 18-year-old is the third most valuable professional in the league before his departure. Only Sead Haksabanovic (5.5 million euros) and Jordan Larsson (8 million euros) are valued higher. The son of Sweden icon Henrik Larsson arrived on loan from Spartak Moscow as part of FIFA’s special transfer window and remains the league’s highest-paying player despite the biggest market value drop in the update, €3m. On the other hand, Ishaq Abdulrazak made a step up, improving his value by EUR 2.1 million and is now valued at EUR 3 million.

In terms of squad values, Malmö FF remains in first place with an increase of €2.7m and a total value of €27.45m. Hammarby IF was able to show the greatest market value development. With a plus of 6.3 million euros, the reigning cup winners secured second place and edged out AIK Solna, which is the only club in the league to have to accept a drop in squad value. With a minus of 1.15 million euros, the club from the province of Stockholm slipped to third place.

This is how the Transfermarkt market values work

The Transfermarkt market values are created taking into account various pricing models and a strong involvement of the Transfermarkt community, which deals with the values in detailed discussions. The transfer market market values are not to be equated with the transfer fees actually paid.

The goal is not to predict a price, but an expected value. When determining the market value, both individual transfer modalities and situational framework conditions are relevant to a certain extent. Examples of this are listed here. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (for detailed market value definition).
