Market values Slovenia: Champion Olimpija Ljubljana catches up with Maribor

Top scorer in the Bundesliga focus

After the end of the season, Transfermarkt carried out a comprehensive update of the market values of the Slovenian Prva Liga. NK Olimpija Ljubljana catches up with record champion NK Maribor. The squad value of the newly crowned champion increases from 8.85 million to 11 million euros. Maribor, this season only in third place, also increases by 1.2 million euros, but is only 200,000 euros ahead of Olimpija Ljubljana.

The fact that Maribor stays ahead is mainly due to top scorer Zan Vipotnik. The 21-year-old Slovenia international, who has also recently been linked with Bundesliga clubs TSG Hoffenheim, Borussia Mönchengladbach and VfB Stuttgart, has scored 20 goals in 30 games and is the update’s biggest winner. Vipotnik jumps from 500,000 to 2 million euros. On the other hand, Olimpija’s Ivan Posavec (24; 350,000 euros) and FC Kopers Rudi Pozeg Vancas (29; 300,000 euros) recorded the biggest minus with 300,000 euros each.

This is how the Transfermarkt market values work

The Transfermarkt market values are created taking into account various pricing models and a strong involvement of the Transfermarkt community, which deals with the values in detailed discussions. The transfer market market values are not to be equated with the transfer fees actually paid.

The goal is not to predict a price, but an expected value. When determining the market value, both individual transfer modalities and situational framework conditions are relevant to a certain extent. Examples of this are listed here. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (for detailed market value definition).
