Plus for Bayern loan Tillman
Transfermarkt.co.uk has updated the market values of 99 Scottish Premiership players. While Celtic coach Ange Postecoglou and his team are heading for their second championship title in a row, “The Bhoys” also dominate the league in terms of market values. With left winger Jota, a Celtic pro is now at the top of the rankings, and there are a total of six players from the Postecoglou squad in the top 10.
After an impressive season in which the winger contributed 11 goals and nine assists in 35 games in all competitions, the Portuguese winger has become the league’s most valuable player with a market value of €12m. With the recent revaluation of one million euros, the 22-year-old has almost tripled his value since moving from Lisbon to Glasgow.
Joining the 23-year-old is team-mate Cameron Carter-Vickers, who continues to impress at the heart of Postecoglou’s defense and whose market value has risen by €1.5m to now €11m – putting the 25-year-old USA international in the spot now on par with winger Ryan Kent from city rivals Rangers. The Englishman, meanwhile, had to accept a minus of 3 million euros due to poor performance and an expiring contract, his market value is now estimated at 11 million euros. As recently as last summer, this was EUR 17.5 million.

Market values Scotland: The biggest winners in the Premiership
Nine of the ten biggest losers come from Rangers
Last season’s Europa League finalists Rangers, meanwhile, account for nine of the ten biggest losers in the Premiership update and are down €12.6m in squad value – alongside the aforementioned Kent, who are expected to return to England in the summer Among the losers is Colombian striker Alfredo Morelos, who once had a reputation as one of the league’s most dangerous goalscorers but has now failed to live up to expectations with just nine goals in 26 games. The 26-year-old is also down by 3 million to now 7 million euros – the lowest value in offensive power since July 2019.
This is how the Transfermarkt market values work
The Transfermarkt market values are created taking into account various pricing models and a strong involvement of the Transfermarkt community, which deals with the values in detailed discussions. The transfer market market values are not to be equated with the transfer fees actually paid.
The goal is not to predict a price, but an expected value. When determining the market value, both individual transfer modalities and situational framework conditions are relevant to a certain extent. Examples of this are listed here. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (for detailed market value definition).
