Update super league
Andrea Compagno (26) is one of the big winners in the interim market value update of the Romanian SuperLiga, in which only player values with a great need for action were adjusted. The FCSB striker not only tops the list of goalscorers together with Marko Dugandzic (28) from FC Rapid 1923, but was also identified by Italy’s national coach Roberto Mancini as a serious candidate for a place in the “Squadra Azzurra” and included in the provisional squad for the upcoming internationals.
Compagno, who played in San Marino until 2020 and then initially switched to the second Romanian league, has increased significantly – by 42.9 percent to 2 million euros. The attacker is now one of the ten most valuable players in Romania’s top flight. Compagnos FCSB offensive colleague Andrei Cordea (23) and left winger Andrei Ivan (26) from Universitatea Craiova have also gained in market value, both of whom are now valued at €2.5m and are level with Florinel Coman, the league’s fifth most valuable player (24), are.
“CataMS”, Romanian market value admin at Transfermarkt, justifies Ivan’s plus of 200,000 euros primarily with his good form since the turn of the year: “Since then he has scored six goals, some of which are very important.” Cordea’s market value has even increased by 500,000 euros. “The national player has aroused interest in Western Europe and the Arab world,” says the Romania expert. FC Augsburg was also linked to the international in the TM rumor mill in January.
Nothing will change at the top of the SuperLiga until the full market value update after the end of the season: Darius Olaru (25) from FCSB is there at EUR 5.3 million ahead of Andrei Burca (29; Cluj) and Octavian Popescu, who are valued at EUR 4 million (20; FCSB). Devaluations such as ex-national player Claudiu Keseru (36), who falls by 150,000 to 450,000 euros, are usually due to age or poor performance in this update.
This is how the Transfermarkt market values work
The Transfermarkt market values are created taking into account various pricing models and a strong involvement of the Transfermarkt community, which deals with the values in detailed discussions. The transfer market market values are not to be equated with the transfer fees actually paid.
The goal is not to predict a price, but an expected value. When determining the market value, both individual transfer modalities and situational framework conditions are relevant to a certain extent. Examples of this are listed here. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (for detailed market value definition).
