Top talent in focus
Following the market value update in the Norwegian Elite Series, the focus is on the biggest winners and some of the most promising talents. Albert Grønbæk, one of the main reasons for Bodø/Glimt’s sovereign championship, belongs in both categories.
The 22-year-old Dane Grønbæk managed to make Hugo Vetlesen, who had moved to Bruges, forget him and become the best midfielder of the year. “He shows strong vertical football, which makes him a very dangerous midfielder,” explains market value admin “Arturus”. “He can combine well, is strong at dribbling and has a good finish.” Grønbæk’s market value increases by 2.5 million to 10 million. Euro – top value in the league.
Teammate Faris Moumbagna (23) goes up a little more in percentage terms, but increases by the same amount as Grønbæks. 7 million euros for Bodø/Glimt’s center forward after previously 4.5 million euros means a shared second place in the league ranking, level with the only 16-year-old Sverre Nypan from Rosenborg, who will be upgraded by 2 million euros.
About Moumbagna, the expert says: “He is fast, physically strong and scores his goals, although it must also be emphasized that as a center forward he benefits from the offensive strength of his club and that his technical repertoire does not compare, for example, to that of the former Glimt striker Victor Boniface can keep up. The high appreciation is due to his overall strong performance, especially in the Conference League, rumored offers that are said to be just above the previous market value and the fact that he made his debut for the Cameroon national team.
Midfielder Nypan, who became a regular in Trondheim despite being only 16 years old, was featured in Transfermarkt’s talent calendar a few days ago. There “Arturus” described him as a more attacking midfielder “with a high football mind. He is two-footed, creative, has a good passing game, handles the ball well and also has a very good work rate. As an ‘eighth’ he doesn’t neglect the defense either. Basically, he is already a very complete midfielder, his weaknesses still lie in consistency and finishing on goal.” In an interview with Transfermarkt, Nypan referred to Erling Haaland, who only left Norway at the age of 18. The youngster emphasized: “I think it’s a good idea to be patient here.”
Løvik, Tewelde & Egeli: Three elite series talents in focus
It was the name Haaland that sharpened the spotlight on Norwegian talent, and Nypan is not the only one in the spotlight. “Mathias Fjørtoft Løvik earned an increase to 3 million euros because the U21 national player appeared on the ‘Golden Boy’ list in the summer and made it into the starting eleven at his club,” says “Arturus” about him 20 year old winger from Molde FK. “He is actually a left wingback, but due to injuries at Molde this season he often had to help out on the right side. Such versatility will also be interesting for other clubs,” says the expert, who describes Løvik as “fast, technically well trained and very ambitious.” In what he says is an otherwise well-behaved Norwegian league, he sometimes comes across as a hothead.
About the 17-year-old Faniel Tewelde from Odds BK, who is valued at 2 million euros, the expert says: “For me, he is the league’s greatest attacking talent, actually more of a winger, but this season at Odds BK he is also a player Center forward or false nine was used. He is fast and strong at dribbling, his ball handling appears elegant and light-footed and he also has good finishing skills. With these large facilities he will be on the list of many clubs, although the issue of consistency, as with many players of this age, can still be improved.
The third name that “Arturus” brings into focus is Vetle Walle Egeli from Sandefjord, now listed at €1.5 million. The market value admin explains: “This last name is very familiar to Scandinavian football scouts, because his brother Sindre Walle Egeli, who is two years younger, is also considered a huge talent in his age group and is currently playing in the strong youth team of the Danish ‘talent factory’ FC Nordsjaelland. Brother Vetle Walle Egeli had an impressive season at Sandefjord and, at the age of 19, played a key role in his team’s avoidance of relegation. He is a left-back who has his strengths in the offensive and still flies under the radar of many, but his statistical values are excellent. Since his contract expires at the end of 2024, a sale is expected this winter.”

This is how transfer market market values work
The transfer market market values are created taking into account various pricing models as well as a strong involvement of the transfer market community, which deals with the values in detailed discussions. The transfer market market values cannot generally be equated with the transfer fees actually paid.
The goal is not to predict a price, but rather an expected value. When determining the market value, both individual transfer modalities and situational conditions are relevant to a certain extent. Examples of this are listed here. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (for detailed market value definition)
