Update League MX
Transfermarkt.mx has updated the market values of the Mexican Liga MX Clausura and re-evaluated 454 professionals as part of this. The top two winners are current leaders CF Pachuca, with midfielders Victor Guzmán and Erick Sánchez both up €3m. The most valuable player in the league remains Tigres’ Florian Thauvin despite a devaluation of 2 million euros, the biggest loser is Monterrey’s Luis Romo, whose value has fallen from previously 10 million to now 7 million euros.
While 27-year-old Guzmán increases his value to €7.5m as part of the update, team-mate Sánchez, who has had eight goals in 23 games so far this season, is up to €7m. Together with defender Yairo Moreno, who recorded a minus of 500,000 euros, the duo forms the new top 3 in the club’s internal market value ranking.

With a plus of 2 million to now 3.5 million euros, Israel Reyes from third-placed Puebla FC is also among the winners of the Liga MX. The 21-year-old has established himself in central defense and is one of the guarantors of the high at “Los Camoteros”. The defender’s convincing performances earned him a call-up for the Mexican national team for the first time at the end of last year.
Market values Liga MX: Tigres and Monterrey with the largest value losses
Among the teams with the biggest losses are Tigres UANL and CF Monterrey: with the latter Romo alone losing €3m (down to €7m now) and at the same time losing his status as the second most valuable professional in the league. “Since his move from Querétaro FC to Cruz Azul (2020) and then to Monterrey (2022), Romo has not been able to repeat his previous performances. He’s no longer the player of the past who can make the difference,” is how market value admin “Klinsfrau” classifies the devaluation of the 26-year-old.
Tigres’ Thauvin, meanwhile, maintains his place at the top of the league rankings, although the Frenchman’s market value has been downgraded again and is now estimated at €12m. Despite improving in recent months, the former Newcastle and Marseille pro has not lived up to expectations since making his free transfer last summer.
This is how the Transfermarkt market values work
The Transfermarkt market values are created taking into account various pricing models and a strong involvement of the Transfermarkt community, which deals with the values in detailed discussions. The transfer market market values are not to be equated with the transfer fees actually paid.
The goal is not to predict a price, but an expected value. When determining the market value, both individual transfer modalities and situational framework conditions are relevant to a certain extent. Examples of this are listed here. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (for detailed market value definition).
