Update in Liga MX
Transfermarkt has updated the market values of the Mexican Liga MX, re-evaluating 116 players. Pumas winger César Huerta is the biggest winner with an increase of almost €3 million.
The right-footer, who came from “Chivas” on a free transfer in the summer of 2022, has been convincing since arriving at his new club and has become one of the top players in the league at the age of 22. Huerta is upgraded from 1.2 million to 4 million euros. “César Huerta took a big step forward in the Apertura 2023 and became a Mexican international. He is still a fairly young player who has shown a lot of potential and effectiveness in the Pumas’ offense. Despite his young age, he has already played almost 100 games in the Liga MX and his performance curve is constantly pointing upwards,” says market value admin “Klinsfrau”.
Market values Mexico: The most valuable players in Liga MX
The convincing performances of the Atlético de San Luis team to date are also reflected in the new market values. With top performer Juan Manuel Sanabria, the club played its way into the top 3 of the league (table). The midfielder of the “Potosí” team confirmed his reputation as one of the best young talents in the country and, at 23 years old, is one of the most valuable players in Aztec football. For him it went up by 2 million euros to 7 million euros.

Likewise, some young talents such as Yael Padilla (Deportivo Guadalajara, 1.5 million euros) and Elías Montiel (Pachuca, 1.8 million euros) received their first market values as part of the update. “Chivas and Pachuca are teams that give young players confidence. This season we have seen the emergence of youngsters under the age of 20 – like Padilla and Montiel – who have become regular players in their teams,” reports Eduardo Hernandez, Area Manager Mexico at Transfermarkt. Further notable increases in market value were experienced by Colombian strikers Diber Cambindo (Cruz Azul, from €1.2 to €3 million) and Harold Preciado (Santos Laguna, from €5 to €6 million), who are the top scorers this season belong to the league.

Meanwhile, the “Rayados” from Monterrey lost their status as the most valuable team in the league, including the newcomers Sergio Canales (from 15 to 13 million euros) and Tecatito (from 8 to 7 million euros) had to accept losses. “Klinsfrau” explains: “Sergio Canales’ value has fallen slightly for various reasons, for example due to his age, the transfer fee of 10 million euros paid and the move to a league with less prestige and attention compared to the Spanish LaLiga .”
Like their neighbors, Tigres also recorded a decline in squad value. Among other things, center forward Nicolás Ibáñez, who is now very far from the level at which he was top scorer a year ago, was devalued from 7 million to 5.5 million euros.
