Market values in the 2nd league: Ducksch climbs into the top 5 – the biggest minus for Bittencourt, Fein & Maina

Intermediate update with plus for rice

The 2nd Bundesliga has been updated with updated market values in an interim update and now has a new face in the top 5 of the most valuable players in the league: Marvin Ducksch (28) from Werder Bremen can place himself in the upper realms with a significant upgrade. Team colleague Niclas Füllkrug (29) makes an even bigger relative leap.

“Werder Bremen are also the two biggest winners and the biggest loser of the interim update,” summarizes Marktwert admin Tobias Kröger with a view to the update in the green-white ranks, in which Leonardo Bittencourt (28) recorded significant losses. “Ducksch increases his market value as the top scorer in the league by 1.5 million euros – now with 4 million euros, the man from Bremen, who recently aroused the interest of several Bundesliga clubs with his performances, has catapulted himself into the top 5 of the most valuable second division -professionals.”

With strike partner Füllkrug, Ducksch is by far the most dangerous offensive duo in the league. The latter has remained injury-free for a long time and is likely to break his personal goal record this season – Füllkrug currently has 14 goals, he has never scored more often in a professional game during a season. It increases its market value from EUR 1.5 million to EUR 2.5 million. A higher value of Bremen’s offensive thanks to Ducksch and Füllkrug by a total of 2.5 million euros is not so easy to assess, however, as attacker Roger Assalé (28) is devalued by 600,000 to 900,000 euros. Bittencourt from the attacking midfield also has to accept a minus of one million euros to 3.5 million euros (all new squad values in the 2nd Bundesliga and their development since the beginning of the season).

2. Bundesliga: Rei’s biggest market value winner at HSV – Maina crashes

HSV, Werder’s pursuers in the promotion race, recorded their biggest increase in market value in the person of summer newcomer Ludovit Reis (21). “The Dutchman has established himself in Hamburg’s midfield, shows extreme maturity for his 21 years on the pitch and brings a lot of game intelligence with him,” market value admin Kröger explains the upgrading of the former Barcelona junior, who is already 21- was in the starting XI and only didn’t get a chance on the 8th matchday. For rice, it’s up by half a million. Kröger adds: “With a market value of 3 million euros, he is now the second most valuable professional in coach Tim Walter’s squad, alongside Josha Vagnoman (also 3 million euros) and behind Mario Vuskovic (4.5 million euros).” Liga it is already one of the 13 highest ratings.

A Hanoverian who is actually already under contract in the Bundesliga has no less great potential and a rank as a junior national player: 96-loan player Maximilian Beier. “At the age of just 19, he has established himself as an invigorating element in the Lower Saxony offensive and has been involved in nine goals in the league and cup,” emphasizes Kröger. “Although he doesn’t prove to be ripped off enough in front of the box, Beier has repeatedly demonstrated his potential – also on the big stage in the DFB Cup, where he scored four goals in three games. His contract in Hoffenheim runs until 2024, his future from the summer is currently open.” The new market value of the young professional will be adjusted from EUR 2 million to EUR 2.5 million. Khaled Narey (27, Düsseldorf) and Tim Breithaupt (20, KSC, both 2 million euros) are also up by half a million euros.

On the other hand, things are not going so well in Hanover for the former top talent Linton Maina (22). “The offensive power could not really meet the expectations placed on him after Zimmermann’s change of coach to Dabrowski. Most recently, Maina repeatedly had to give way from the starting XI,” summarizes Kröger. Maina’s market value is down 28 percent, from €2.5 million to €1.8 million. Nevertheless, the following applies to the market value admin: “Due to his expiring contract and the unclear future to date, he remains interesting for Bundesliga clubs.” After Bittencourt, Maina conceded the biggest absolute minus together with Bayern loan Adrian Fein (23), whose market value after the winter move to Dresden will be reduced by more than 46 percent by 700,000 to just 800,000 euros.

This is how the Transfermarkt market values work

The Transfermarkt market values are created taking into account various pricing models and a strong involvement of the Transfermarkt community, which deals with the values in detailed discussions. The transfer market market values are not to be equated with the transfer fees actually paid.

The goal is not to predict a price, but an expected value. When determining the market value, both individual transfer modalities and situational framework conditions are relevant to a certain extent. Examples of this are listed here. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (for detailed market value definition).
