Market values China: Leading trio around Oscar loses – top scorer Leonardo with 200% plus

Update Chinese Super League

48-time Brazil international Oscar (31) has once again defended his supremacy in the Chinese Super League following the latest market value update. The attacking midfielder from leaders Shanghai Port loses half a million euros, but his 7.5 million euros are enough to remain at the top of the league’s most valuable players. With his €60 million move from Chelsea in January 2017, Oscar, for whom it was the third consecutive devaluation, remains the most expensive transfer in league history.

The Brazilian’s closest pursuer remains Nicolae Stanciu (30) – one of the bigger losers of the update. The Romanian, who joined from Slavia Prague for €4m in March last year, has lost €1m and is valued at €5.5m from now on. Behind him, Oscar teammate Matías Vargas (26), is also a professional who was made redundant. For the Argentine, it’s about a million down to 5 million euros.

Only behind the trio follows a first update winner. Rômulo (27; Chengdu Rongcheng) is up €2m to €3.5m, putting the Brazilian, who is third in the top scorer rankings with three goals and eight assists, level with Cryzan (26; Shandong Taishan) is located. The same amount is also up for Leonardo (26), who is now valued at 3 million euros. With ten goals, the Changchun Yatai center forward not only leads the scorer list, but also leads the league’s scorer list with another four assists and is therefore consequently upgraded.

The market value curve for ex-Man United pro Marouane Fellaini points in the opposite direction. The 87-time Belgium international is down €1.5m, one of the biggest of the update, and is now valued at €1m. It was the ninth consecutive devaluation for the 35-year-old from Shandong Taishan, also due to age. The only German representative in the Chinese Super League, Streli Mamba (29) from Dalian Professional, remains at 250,000 euros. The attacker moved to China last August after terminating his contract with the Kazakh first division club Kairat Almaty.

This is how the Transfermarkt market values work

The Transfermarkt market values are created taking into account various pricing models and a strong involvement of the Transfermarkt community, which deals with the values in detailed discussions. The transfer market market values are not to be equated with the transfer fees actually paid.

The goal is not to predict a price, but an expected value. When determining the market value, both individual transfer modalities and situational framework conditions are relevant to a certain extent. Examples of this are listed here. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (for detailed market value definition).
