Market values Brazil: Flamengos Pedro biggest winner

Update in the Series A

Transfermarkt carried out a comprehensive update of the market values of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A immediately after the end of the season. Midfielder Danilo, who contributed three goals in 34 league games for champions Palmeiras this season and is not traveling to the World Cup with coach Tite’s “Seleção”, remains the most valuable player in the league with an unchanged value of 25 million euros. While his team-mate Endrick, who is being courted by Real Madrid, among others, is in the top 3 in this ranking with a plus of 5 million euros, Flamengo’s centre-forward Pedro has recorded the largest increase in market value with an increase of 8 million euros.

Like Endrick, the 25-year-old is now valued at €20 million. With 14 goals in 24 league games, the two-time international secured a place in the squad for the World Cup last week and can also claim the title of top scorer in the Copa Libertadores (12 goals in 13 games). The team from Rio de Janeiro won the latter in October by beating league rivals CA Paranaense in the final.

The renewed upgrade of the 16-year-old youngster Endrick by 5 million euros is due to his convincing debut in the Brazilian top flight: In seven games since the beginning of October, the left-footed player, who has been considered the greatest hope of young Brazilian talent for years, has had four goals. Endrick, whose contract runs until 2025, was given his very first market value in the summer, which at the time was 15 million euros – one of the highest starting values in Transfermarkt history.

The former Benfica and Inter professional Gabriel Barbosa, meanwhile, had to accept a market value loss of 2 million euros in the course of the update. The 26-year-old Flamengo pro, whose services national coach Tite has also given up since February this year, was not quite able to match his goal quota of the previous year, but remains the second most valuable player in the league behind Danilo with €22m.

Among the biggest losers in market value are Shakhtar-Donetsk loanee Pedrinho from Atlético Mineiro, who was only able to play seven games last season through injury and has been out since September with a hamstring muscle tear (drops from €17m to €12m), as well as Botafogo’s midfielder Patrick de Paula, who has not lived up to expectations since joining from Palmeiras and is now valued at €7m (down €4m).
