Transfermarkt has updated the market values of the Mexican Liga MX. Some players recorded an increase, two players in particular stand out: striker Oussama Idrissi from CF Pachuca and Cruz Azul goalkeeper Kevin Mier. The Colombian in the box immediately proved his worth after his arrival in January and is an important part of new coach Martin Anselmi’s plans.
“The security that the Colombian goalkeeper provides to the defense is impressive as he kept a clean sheet six times in the first ten games of the season. “So it is not unreasonable to think that Mier could move to Europe, similar to Kevin Castaño, which is why we have decided to increase his market value by one million euros to 4.5 million euros, making him the second most valuable goalkeeper in Mexico.” , explains Eduardo Hernandez, Area Manager of Transfermarkt.mx.
We also need to talk about Idrissi. The Moroccan striker is well on his way to becoming the game-defining player in Liga MX. With three goals and six assists, he has been involved in more goals than any other player this season – a situation that has led to his upgrade to €7 million.
Idrissi, Berterame, Mier: Market value winners in Mexico
“Idrissi has quickly established himself as one of the most important offensive players in Liga MX. Thanks to his quick adaptation and his involvement in many goals for Pachuca, his value has increased from 5.5 million to 7 million euros,” explains “klinsfrau”, market value analyst at Transfermarkt.mx. Meanwhile, Erick Sánchez (Pachuca) has a market value 10 million euros has become the most valuable Mexican in the league and has drawn level with Julián Quiñones (CF América). The likelihood that the 28-year-old will change clubs in the summer transfer window is high.
Álvarez and Zendejas among market value losers in Liga MX Clausura
Among the biggest losers from the update are Kevin Álvarez and Alex Zendejas from CF América, who were each devalued by one million euros to €6 million and €4 million respectively. This is also why América had to give up its status as the most valuable team in the league to CF Monterrey. “Despite the fact that the team has just become champions, some elements of the Águilas (the Eagles) are in decline, so it is necessary to adapt their value to this situation,” adds Eduardo Hernández.
Things are also going down for left winger Maximiliano Araújo from Deportivo Toluca, who falls to 7.5 million euros. “After reaching his peak, Maximiliano Araujo has stopped his great development and no longer shows the level that put him in the sights of other clubs and even European football. That’s why its value has fallen from 8.5 million to 7 million euros,” explains “klinsfrau”. In addition to a number of age-related devaluations, some up-and-coming players missed out on their first market value.
