Markenaar and ex-chairman of the basketball league passed away

Guy Vervaeke was a player, trainer and chairman of Power Wevelgem. He led the Belgian basketball league from 2003 to 2010. Vervaeke was also a director and key figure at the Royal Belgian Basketball Association. Between 2017 and 2022 he was a board member of the BNXT League and Basketball Flanders.

In the night from Thursday to Friday Guy Vervaeke died in Kortrijk. He had been ill for some time, but his death came unexpectedly. The man was a well-known figure in basketball circles.
