Mark Rutte thinks that RTL rotates too often with talk shows: ‘Jesus!’

Mark Rutte, the outgoing Prime Minister of our country, believes that RTL 4 rotates its late-night talk shows far too often. “Jesus, guys, how often?! I hate change. Stop.”

The late-night stars of RTL 4 are involved in a kind of permanent relay race: they run their lungs out to pass on the baton, so that they can quickly go on holiday again. Renze Klamer has barely finished annoying Arie Boomsma and Jorik Scholten when the next host arrives: Humberto Tan starts on Monday.

‘Jesus, guys’

Jaïr Ferwerda brings it up when he has outgoing Prime Minister Mark Rutte in front of his camera yesterday afternoon. “This is Renze’s last broadcast.”

Rutte surprised: “Jesus, guys, how often do you change?”

Jaïr: “It just changes and it keeps changing at RTL.”

Rutte: “I hate change. Just stop.”

‘Also nice’

Jaïr informs Rutte about the broadcast schedule. “Then Monday Humberto starts.”

Rutte: “Also nice.”

Jaïr: “Renze will be back in about three months, around May. Will you still be Prime Minister when he starts again?”

Rutte: “I have no idea, you would have to ask the negotiators. That’s quite a distance, so you hope they’re a little further away. We are a slow country, a slow country. I also explain that to everyone internationally. It’s taking a long time here.”

Quack

How is Rutte actually doing? He sounds a bit cold. “What a nice weather, huh? I’ve been struggling all week, I think that’s what they call it. It rules, it rules.”

What does Rutte think of the NRC suggesting that he is only pro-Israel to get a job at NATO? “That’s not true, so yeah, you know, yeah guys, Jesus… Anonymous sources, awww, bullshit, but you can’t handle it either, so I’m not going to get annoyed by it either.”

Angry at NRC

Rutte seems a bit angry with NRC. “Such an accusation is like throwing sand into the water, which then becomes cloudy and then I have to defend myself against it and when I do that everyone thinks: oh, where there is smoke, there is fire.”

When Jaïr wishes the prime minister a nice day at the end of the conversation, Rutte shouts: “A very nice day and Renze: good months!”

Renze then said in the studio: “My evening can’t go wrong anymore!”
