Mark Lanegan has passed away at the age of 57. Unexpected and shocking news for his fans, who are now wondering: Why did the Screaming Trees musician die so early? There is currently little information. Only a statement from his spokesman reveals a few details about the death. “Our beloved friend Mark Lanegan passed away this morning at his home in Killarney, Ireland,” the statement said.
Did Mark Lanegan die from the effects of Corona?
Mark Lanegan fell ill with Corona in spring 2020 after a photo session and as a result had to deal with serious health problems. He temporarily lost his hearing, later he had to be treated in the hospital for breathing difficulties – finally he was even in a coma for several weeks. He then processed his memories and experiences in the book “Devil In A Coma”, which was published on December 14, 2021. At that point he said he was feeling better.
Did the health consequences of the disease ultimately lead to his death? There is no information about this yet. However, in one of his last interviews, he himself stated that his body was still struggling with some problems.
Mark Lanegan was the driving force behind The Screaming Trees until they disbanded in 2000. The grunge musician also contributed to Queens of the Stone Age and The Gutter Twins. The musician leaves behind his wife Shelley Brien, who has not yet commented on the sad news on social media.
