Marjatta can live with the fact that her home is not to everyone’s liking.
Retired EU civil servant Berry to build Grand Designs in Finland for himself his first home at the age of 77.
After the years in Brussels, Marjatta returns to the landscapes of her childhood in Lohja, where she has bought a plot of land from her brother. It is located half a kilometer from Marjata’s birthplace. As a grandmother of eight grandchildren, Marjatta plans to make her own home a gathering place for the whole family, a kind of modern version of granny’s cottage.
The architecturally ambitious building has a ground floor of 40 square meters, on top of which there will be an upper floor that is more than twice the length of the lower floor. More than half of the surface area of the upper floor is literally hanging in the air.
