Mariupol is blown to pieces just like Grozny and Aleppo: flats are cheese holes | Abroad

American blogger Patrick Lancaster posted a video online on Sunday in which he is one of the few Western reporters – along with soldiers – walking through areas of Mariupol that are clearly under control of Russian soldiers and separatists. Not a single block of houses seems undamaged. Some flats are cheeses of holes due to the countless bullet and grenade impacts. According to Lancaster, such a riddled building was where soldiers of the extreme Azov battalion were hiding. On the street he mainly meets old women who don’t know it anymore. “Who’s the enemy? Who’s who?” one of them asks almost distraught.
