Marit Janssens fifth at European Championship single scull

Janssens could already qualify for the final with six on Saturday. She finished fifth in that final. That’s pretty good for a first entry. In a time of 8min 3 sec 95 hundredths she was six seconds away from a podium finish.

This week European Championships in Bled

For the seniors, the European championship is on the program this week, in Bled, Slovenia. With two West Flemish players in the light double sculls. Marlon Colpaert will be there together with teammate Niels Van Zandweghe. The intention is to look for a ticket for next year’s Olympic Games.

Their opponents come from Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Spain, Estonia, France, Great Britain, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Switzerland, Turkey and Ukraine. The series start on Thursday 25 May. The second chance and semi-finals will take place on Friday and the finals B and A on Saturday.
