The Norwegian skiing star competed in a marathon on Sunday.

A skiing star who ended his top sports career Marit Björgen42, is still in serious condition.
Björgen ran the New York marathon on Sunday with a time of 3:08.52. The eight-time Olympic champion clocked the mile in an average of seven minutes and 13 seconds.
A mile corresponds to approximately 1.6 kilometers.
Björgen’s pace slowed significantly at 30 kilometers, but the ski champion still took the final lead. His final placement has not yet been confirmed at the time of writing.
The Norwegian ended his skiing career after the 2018 season, but has since competed in the Ski Classics series of marathon trips.
The marathon was run from Staten Island to Manhattan. There were more than 50,000 participants.
The world champion bowed
The women’s marathon was won by a 28-year-old Sharon Lokediwho clocked a time of 2:23,23. According to Runners World the Kenyan became the leader of the race only in the last 1.6 kilometers of the race.
Lokedi beat Israel by seven seconds Lonah Chemtai to Salpeter. This year, Salpeter has won the World Championship bronze in the marathon and the European Championship bronze in 10,000 meters.
The reigning marathon world champion Gotytom Gebreslase was third (2:23,39).
The first place in the men’s marathon was from Kenya Evans Chebet, who also won the Boston Marathon this year. Chebet clocked 2.08.41.
Ethiopian Shura Kitata was 13 seconds slower than the second runner-up in the Tokyo Olympics marathon Abdi Nageye third (2.10,31).
